 General Description

The Mortar Brig is basically the regular brig with mortars, due to the addition of mortars some cannons are removed and her sailing qualities are highly diminished, She is currently the only ship with mortars.

Deck Cannon Count Cannon Size Carronade Size
Gun Deck 12 6pd 18pd
Special Armament Amount Size
Mortar 2 308pd

The Mortar brig is the slowest ship in the game currently and has a very poor turn rate, however she does have the advantage of being the only ship with mortars, which can do a massive amount of damage.

Here is the Sailing Profile for the Mortar Brig. She handles most like her larger sister ship the Navy Brig. She handles best on a broad reach and is relatively comfortable with the wind anywhere abaft her beam. She does lose a fair amount of speed when running the wind. Likewise, she experiences the normal square-rigged loss of speed when sailing upwind. Notably, however, she displays an odd specific fondness for point 45, where she performs strangely better than the surrounding points.
